MakeShift would like to wish you a happy St. Patrick's day!

Thats right we here MakeShift would like to wish you a happy St. Patrick's day.
I mean, what other holiday do you know of that let's you pretend to be a nationality that was extracted from your D.N.A. the last time that you dot bit by a mosquito?
Come on honestly would you pretend to be hardcore Irish on any other day?
"But, Alpha! How else am I gonna get green beer?" Shut your mouth you poser!
Don't get me wrong, the real Irish people are freakin' awesome. What I'm sick of is people looking for a reason to go party with the real deal.

Here is a qoute from St. Patrick himself "Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me." Do think that he would want you getting drunk off your ass, on a day in memory of him?
Here is another thing. Every year Chicago dyes the river green...
Why in the name of St. Patrick are theese guys wearing Bio-chem. Outfits!? And why are they putting that stuff into the river!? What does that have to do with St. Patrick's life work?
This message has been brought to you by Ben Alpha of MakeShift.

Da Gear (Alpha)

The Guitar...

Well the one you see in the back is my Washburn mercury series.
I have flipped the middle & bridge pickup on it for a much more
mellow tone. The only set back to it is the floyd rose trem. on it. It can be very tricky to tune sometimes (Note by Omega, who transferred this from the comments section to an actual post-That thing takes more time to tune than it took Kung to become a Ninja Master... In other words, you could build a boat and sail around the world before that thing will cooperate... Not cool. I recommend Fender Tuners, or Carvin Lites, way before this monstrosity). As far as settings go on the song Transparent Illumination I have it set on the front and middle pickups with the tone at about seven. On Funk Yeah, and Hide And Seek it is set on the bridge pickup and the tone is cranked all the way.
Effects. I have not used any ont the songs you have heard thus far, but I like delay, flange, and am in love with my e-bow! (thanks again Omega!)
Well, I hope that was descriptive enough for you all.

Ben Alpha.

My Gear... (Omega)

Ahem, here is that technical stuff that some musicians like to know about, sometimes.

I, as a bass-playing frood, am somewhat of a gear-head, and thus invested heavily in the stuff I use. And theys rocks.
I am playing (in these recordings) a Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass, with medium guage Fender 7250 strings. I use an even mix of the pickups, with an emphasis on the highs. I.E., lows:5, mids:6, highs:10--for funk yeah and transparent illumination, but I have less mids (4), and less highs (8ish) on hide and seek.
Both of my pickups are tilted down, so the D and G strings are nearly resting on the pickups, while the E and A are far removed. I also raised the bridge over the low strings, and have shifted the string grooves so that there is a greater distance between the E and A than there is between the other strings. This makes slapping a little more convenient, and adds a little more mid-range to the A.

Other than that, we should soon be incoporating my actual amplifier into the mix, at which point we'll have effects, and I'll be able to start using my other bass also.
The amp: Ampeg BA210SP
That other bass: Ibanez SR405 (standard 5, not one of those lame-o L.A. models)

That's all for now. I'll have O'mally post on the 'puter programs and wiring stuff.

Toodles,
Omega

Hey all you fans, (ke ke, I just used the term "fans" woot!) Here is another pre-production song, we have worked out some serious technical difficulties, and now can record full bore. I'm sure by the end of next week we will have at least three more up. But to wet your appetites.
